Spellcards: Kaguya Houraisan

Postby Kaguya Houraisan » 03 Jul 2011 23:23

Kaguya rarely ever leaves Eientei, and therefore does not get into many fights. The one exception to this being her near-constant battles with Fujiwara no Mokou, her eternal nemesis. Being immortals, their battles are cataclysmic and relentless; it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine that very little in Gensokyo could long survive fighting either of them at their full strength. This being the case, Kaguya doesn’t fight her hardest against anyone other than Mokou, since she has no particular desire to actually kill someone. If someone were to get into a fight with Kaguya, it would probably be because she was simply bored; a battle is merely entertainment for someone who can’t truly die.

Regardless of the reason she is fighting, Kaguya mainly uses her Five Treasures in combat. One would think that relying on these alone for duels leaves her with a few less total options than others. But, each of these Treasures offers her varying attacks and even defenses. Many of her attacks limit the opponent’s movement with tight patterns of crisscrossing lasers or danmaku, keeping the enemy well away from her while also screening their attacks, and focused attacks come in from various angles to do the real damage. That being the case, in regular combat Kaguya does not really try to avoid attacks, instead just countering her opponent, or taking advantage of her immortality and taking a hit.

For the most part, Kaguya does not use her powers in a fight, as they would provide a very unfair advantage. Her ability to control the ephemeral, for example, would allow her to act in such short amounts of time as to be undetectable. Or, oppositely, she could drag out an instant of time into eternity, hence stopping time. Either of these would be quite unfair for an everyday opponent, so she relies on other methods of attack instead.

The Sinner of Eternity and the Instant, Kaguya Houraisan
HP: 30/30
Atk: 1|Def: 2|Evd: -1|

Divine Treasure "Brilliant Dragon Bullet"
The first of Kaguya’s Treasures: A jewel from a Dragon’s neck. It releases alternating waves of rainbow-colored spheres and bright lances of light.
Offensive effect: Spread type (Target): -2 Evade this turn. (Cost 3 SP)

Impossible Request "Buddha's Stone Bowl -Indomitable Will-"
Kaguya’s second Treasure. The enemy’s movement is restricted by lasers which shift their pattern occasionally, while star-shaped danmaku is constantly rained down on her opponent. The orbs firing the danmaku also serve to screen Kaguya from attack.
Defensive effect: Barrier type: (User) +2 Defense this turn. (Cost 3 SP)

Impossible Request "Robe of Fire Rat -Patient Mind-"
The third Treasure. A dense semi-circle of fire centered around Kaguya expands outwards towards the opponent, screening Kaguya from attack. While she is shielded, the Hourai Elixir repairs some of the damage to her body.
Offensive effect: Damage Type: (Target) At the start of each turn, lose 1 HP. Lasts 3 turns. (Cost 4 SP)
Defensive effect: Healing Type: (User) Recover 5 HP (Cost 4 SP)

Impossible Request "Swallow's Cowrie Shell -Everlasting Life-"
The fourth Treasure. The enemy is again pinned down with lasers fired from an orb in a pattern like the spokes of a wheel. After firing, the orb bursts into an expanding circle of stars. It’s hard to hit someone obscured by many bright lasers and danmaku.
Defensive effect: Nullify Type: (User) Reduce damage from opponent's last attack roll to 0. Skip your next attack roll. (Cost 5 SP)

Divine Treasure "Hourai Jewel -Dreamlike Paradise-"
The final and most valuable of Kaguya’s Treasures: A branch from the eternal Hourai Tree. A dizzying amount of rainbow-colored spherical danmaku is fired at the enemy in another circular, wheel-like pattern, again limiting their movement. More danmaku streams in from the opponent’s sides every second.
Offensive effect: Homing Type: (Target) Roll attack twice, use the higher roll. (Cost 3 SP)

"End of Imperishable Night -Paschal Moon-"
The opponent’s movement is extremely limited while large danmaku spheres slam into the enemy. This attack is a small taste of Kaguya’s true power.
Offensive effect: Full-Power Type: (User) Attack roll becomes 1d6+6 this turn. If opponent's defense roll is lower than half the user's attack roll, opponent takes +1 damage. (Cost 5 SP)

New Impossible Request "Seamless Ceiling of Kinkaku-ji"
The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire!
Offensive effect: Pressure Type: (Target) Spellcards cost 2 more SP to cast. (Cost 4 SP)
